Obituary for Doris L. Mlasko

Doris L.
Mlasko, 93, of Ironwood, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, in Ironwood.      The former Doris Somsel
was born May 29, 1918, in Brethern, daughter of the late Harvey and Alice
(Brewer) Somsel, and attended school there.      She married Anton V.
Mlasko on Oct. 3, 1935, in Baldwin. The couple then resided in Ironwood, moving
to Monterey, Calif. in 1960 when area mines closed. They lived in cities in
California, moving to LaPine, Ore. in 1973 and Jacksonville, Fla. in 1986. Anton
preceded Doris in death on Dec. 14, 1986. She then resided in
Jacksonville near her daughter Norma and then in Highland and Howell near
her son Paul.      Doris loved to hunt and
fish in her younger years.      Surviving are her
daughter, Norma (Jule) Abbosh, Jacksonville; three sons, Richard,
Clarkston, Wash., Rudolph (Ruth), Tucson, Ariz., and Paul (Gail),
Ironwood; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Corwin
Somsel, Kalamazoo; a sister, Lucille Sturtevant, Brethern; and numerous nieces
and nephews.      Besides her parents and
husband, Doris was preceded in death by a brother, Cameron Somsel; and
three sisters, Bernice Leckron, Ethel Sturtevant and Elsie Paulus.      At the family's request,
cremation has taken place.      Graveside services
will be held Monday, Sept. 19, at 1:30 p.m., in Riverside Cemetery,
Ironwood, with the Rev. Wesley "Bo" Baumeister officiating.      Inurnment will
