Daniel Koeppel, 74, died at home on Thursday, October 21, 2021.
He was born on May 25, 1947 in Antigo, WI to the late Norbert and Caroline (Lex) Koeppel.
Dan graduated from Antigo High School in 1965. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War (1966-1968).
In his younger years, Danny enjoyed playing modified pitch softball and logging. He also loved shooting a good game of pool and shaking dice. As an avid sports fan, Danny liked watching the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks and the Wisconsin Badgers. He was a whizz at sports history – ask him who the Heisman Trophy winner for a specific year was and he could tell you. Placing bets, on almost any game or topic, with his friends was also a great past time of Danny’s. But above all he held honesty in the highest regard – keeping you honest in a conversation, gave him great delight.
In the 80’s Danny moved up to Ironwood, MI and built a thriving business as owner of the largest Antique Store in the UP - Dan’s Antique Mall for over 25+ years. Throughout that time, Monica Kuchinski (Wakefield, MI) served as Danny’s dedicated number one assistant.
Survivors include his two brothers, Terrence (Joy) Koeppel, Phlox, WI and Randy (Debbie) Koeppel, Summit Lake, WI; sister, Penelope Koeppel, Phlox, WI; sister-in-law, Mary (Jim) Kriha, Aniwa, WI; nieces and nephews,, Kelly, Bret, Aaron, Joy, Jay, Corey, Robynn, Billie Jo, Bobbie Jo, Toni Jo, Travis, Chase, Richie, Jamie and Ernie; and Danny’s dear friends and caregivers, Joel and Raeann Brandt, Saxon, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, William Koeppel, and infant sister, Mary Ann Koeppel.
