Obituary for Creighton Knight

Creighton "Craig" Charles Knight, age 55 of Ironwood Township, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at his home. He was born on December 19, 1961 in Kenosha, WI and attended Curtis Strange School and Washington High School, both in Kenosha. Craig played football earning most valuable player. He enjoyed riding motor cycle and snowmobiling, he also liked to fish and going on camping trips. On vacations, he liked to go to Lake Superior swimming with his cousins. He also liked tinkering on cars, especially his first car which was a 1978 Ford Thunderbird. He was not afraid to tackle any jobs or projects. He was a kind hearted person, who would give you the shirt of his back. In his twenties, he was diagnosed with a mental illness. He went through many ups and downs, never losing his sense of humor. He is survived by his parents: Charles and Betty (nee Rappley) Knight; a sister Debra Knight and her partner Corey Baumann; a nephew James Knight; nieces: Nicole Phifer and Samantha Baumann; many cousins who enjoyed being with on vacations; and a special friend Jason Pallin, who considered him a brother. Preceding him in death are his maternal grandparents, Samuel and Tiami Rappley; paternal grandparents, Charles and Sigrad Knight; many special aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Ketola-Burla Funeral Home, 634 E. Ayer St., Ironwood with Pastor Kurt Kovanen officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior. Life is in the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunsets.
