Obituary for Charles "Chuck" Magdziak

Charles "Chuck" Magdziak, 63,
of Otterbein, and a native of Ironwood, Mich., died Wednesday, April 13, 2011,
at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital in Otterbein, IN.      Chuck was born Aug. 11, 1947 in Ironwood to
the late Frank and Lillian (Gallo) Magdziak. After graduating from Luther L.
Wright High School in 1966, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his
country proudly in Vietnam.      He joined C.C.I  Systems of Iron Mountain in
1969. In his 42 years with C.C.I. he traveled the United States building cable TV systems.      While working in Fowler, Ind., he met his
wife, Karen Estes, and they were married on May 15, 1971. They traveled the
United States together until 1984 when their son, Greg was born and they took
permanent residence in Otterbein. Chuck continued to travel and his wife and son
would join him in some great places around the country. He was a life member of
the National Rifle Association and an avid fisherman and hunter.      Surviving with his wife and son are two
brothers, Joe (Karen) and Jim Magdziak, both of Ironwood; his mother-in-law;
sisters-and-brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; and many
friends.      Visitation was held Tuesday, April 19, from 5
to 7 p.m., at Windler Funeral Home in Fowler.      A local visitation will be held Saturday,
April 23, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell
St., in Ironwood, where full military honors will be accorded by the Ironwood
American Legion Post 5 Honor Guard.      Luncheon will follow at the Elk & Hound,
10233 Country Club Road, in Ironwood.      Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery,
Ironwood, later this spring.      Memorials are preferred to the National Rifle
Association, American Legion or V.F.W. Post of your choice, or Otterbein
Elementary School.      Chuck's obituary may be viewed online and
