Obituary for Bernadine R. Pisco

Bernadine R. Pisco, 83, of
E5132 Wildwood Lane, Ironwood Township, Mich., died Monday, July 26, 2010, at
St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.      The former Bernadine Sepanski was born April
1, 1927, in Gile, Wis., daughter of the late Walter and Zella (DeForge)
Sepanski, and attended Hurley, Wis. schools.      She was employed as a waitress at the Sport
Bowl, Silver Cup Cafe and Northern Holiday Restaurant, all in Ironwood, Big
Powderhorn Mountain in Bessemer, and The Club Carnival in Hurley. She also
tended bar at the Bank Club and Fino's in Hurley and the Aurora Club in
Ironwood, and worked at Ironwood Products for several years. She retired in
housekeeping from Big Powderhorn Lodging Association in 1993.      Bernadine was a member of the Auxiliaries to
Iron County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1580 and Ironwood American Legion Post
5, and a former member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Our Lady of Peace
Catholic Church in Ironwood. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and working
puzzles.      She was married to Albert Novak on July 10,
1943. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1946.      She then was married to Joseph J. Pisco on
April 20, 1949, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ironwood, by the late Rev.
Ambrose Matejik. Joseph preceded her in death on June 9, 1975.      Surviving are a daughter, Sharon (Donald)
Johnson, Ironwood Township; three sons, Joseph (Barbara), and Michael (Cecilia),
both of Ironwood Township, and Walter, Mercer Island, Wash.; nine grandchildren,
Mark (Karen) Johnson, Ironwood Township, Karry Johnson, Superior, Wis., Gina
(Will) Maccani, Bessemer, Mich., Joseph (Darci) Pisco, Ironwood, Jeff (Amanda)
Pisco and John (Angela) Pisco, both of Ironwood Township, Christie (Eugene)
Benoit, Newport, N.H., Stephanie Pisco, Kirkland, Wash., and Melissa (Jeff)
Birt, Seattle, Wash.; 13 great-grandchildren, Tayler, Cody, Madilyn, Bryce,
Parker, Addison, Alannah, Andrew, Kaytlain, James Bennett, Natalie, Derek and
Brenden; and numerous nieces and nephews.      Besides her parents and husbands, Bernadine
was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and David Sepanski; and four
sisters, Gloria Truax, Zella Smith, Shirley Jurasin and Deanna
Barndollar.      Private family services were
held.      Interment was in Sunset Acres Cemetery,
