Bernadette “Sue” Mattson, 69, of Ironwood, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at her home.  She was born on June 27, 1948 in Ironwood to the late Frank and Faye Briskie.      Sue graduated by J.E. Murphy High School and spent much of her life working at Erspamer’s Super Market and Super One in Ironwood.  On June 29, 1968 she married Richard “Dick” Mattson at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hurley.  He preceded her in death on March 13, 2006.       She is survived by her brother, Robert (Mary Alice) Briskie of Ashland; her sisters-in-law, Mary Briskie of Plover, WI and Dolly Luoma of Ironwood; and nieces and cousins.      In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill and her nephew, Frank Briskie.      Private funeral services will be held at a later date.      In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hope Animal Shelter, 590 Easy Street, Ironwood, MI 49938.  She never met a dog she didn’t love!      Arrangements are with McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home and Cremations Services of Ironwood and Hurley.       To send online condolences, visit www.mckevittpatrickfuneralhome.com .
