Obituary for Audrey M. Lindquist

Audrey M. Lindquist, 74, of
E5313 Sunset Road, Ironwood Township, Mich., died unexpectedly Tuesday, March
23, 2010, at St. Mary's Medical Center in
Duluth.      The former Audrey M. Harvat was born June 11,
1935, in Bessemer, Mich., daughter of the late Frank and Nelma (Maki) Harvat.
She attended A.L. Norrie Grade School in Ironwood and graduated from Luther
L. Wright High School in 1953. She then worked as a telephone operator
for Michigan Bell in Ironwood and Wisconsin Bell in Superior, Wis. prior to her marriage to David G. Lindquist on June
2, 1956, at Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood.      Audrey was a member of Salem Lutheran Church
in Ironwood. In her earlier years, she was a member of the former Gogebic
Community College Faculty Wives Association and served as its' president. Her
hobbies included crossword puzzles, knitting, and reading. Audrey was also a
strong supporter of Gogebic Community College and the Minnesota Vikings. Above
all, she was a loving wife, mom and grandma.       Surviving are her husband, David, of 53
years; two sons, David M. (Julie), Monticello, Minn., and Scott L. (Lisa),
Stillwater, Minn.; four grandchildren, Melissa, Kristina, Connor and Collin; a
sister, Carol (Wilfred) West, Pinellas Park, Fla.; brothers-in-law, John
Brottlund, Ironwood Township, and Bob Secor, Hurley, Wis.; a
sister-in-law, Marie Lindquist, Menomonee Falls, Wis.; and numerous nieces and
nephews.      Besides her parents, she was preceded in death
by a brother, Ronald Harvat; and two sisters, Shirley Leopard and Alice
Brottlund.      Out of respect for Audrey's wishes, cremation
has taken place.      Memorial services will be held Friday, March
26, at 11 a.m., at Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood, with the Rev. Francis
Strong officiating.      Committal will take place at the church, with
luncheon to follow in the church fellowship hall.      Private inurnment will be in Sunset Acres
Cemetery in Ironwood Township at a later date.      Relatives and friends may call at the church
from 9:30 to 11 a.m.on Friday.      In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may
be made to the Salem Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 333 E. Aurora St., Ironwood,
